Oh wait, that's plutonium.
Forget the Libyans, look how fast Wikipedia created nuclear scientists right on this forum.

This. Fukashima crew are decommissioning the rods and each has to be put in a water filled cask to keep the workers from being exposed and the rods cool.

I do find it quite amusing to see how many people don't quite seem to grasp the concept of what a "concept car" is all about.

I read where thorium was the power considered for a base on the moon. After reading up on Thorium it seems like it had much promise. But the government pushed for a fast reactor and that's where we went. Thorium seems much safer and easier to power, and shut down. Ive been using solar and wind for years, but it just dosent work that well. Very limited.

The thorium fuel cycle has all of the downsides that the uranium fuel cycle has except there is more Thorium. A nuclear powered "concept car" is, even as a concept, exceedingly dumb.

I can only imagine driving my nuclear powered concept car through a border checkpoint. Alarms will be a blazing. And guns will be drawn. I would think if a nuclear medical test sets the sensors off, a nuclear powered car would as well.

The radiation emitted by this contraption while operating would kill operator, passengers, and maybe the motorist in the car next to it on the freeway.

So, if I understand what you're saying, one of the benefits of this design is that it would have a positive effect on traffic congestion, right?

Actually there would be "abandoned" cars everywhere.
