Will auto companies market a 100mpg auto? I heard that a contest is being established to try and achieve that goal. Has anyone heard anymore about this? Will it be large enough to transport a family? I wonder if we shouldn't start looking at the alternative of not using oil and burning something other then gas in our autos. I wonder if the oil companies(with all their money and power) would try and supress the use of a alternative fuel. I just had some thoughts on this, and thought I would put it out there.
It comes with a $1 million prize, too!

The technology already exists. It has for decades. But, it's not good business for auto makers and they've kept it buried. Only now, that they're under public pressure, are they "researching" this subject.
My daughter told me about either a fuel efficant(sp?) car or a hybrid car that costs over a million to buy. Sorry I dont know the details, she read about it on MSN..
