If this ever became possible can you imagine how much a station would have to charge to stay in business.

Let me see if I understand, the writer is proposing a nuclear reactor powered car? How dumb is that?

If they can build satellites with nuclear reactors why not vehicles?

Assuming one can afford the $19,000,000.00 price tag of course...

Let me know when they have the convertible submarine model available. Now that would be totally worth it!

Satellites don't get into wrecks with minivans. In addition you'll need a license from the NRC. Think these things through a little. This makes less than no sense.

They seem to have forgotton about the umpteen tons of shielding needed to avoid being irradiated with neutrons. Press 'start' and die.

Wow, now there is a naive statement. Thorium 232 is about as safe as Uranium 238, but a thorium reactor has all the radiation dangers of a uranium reactor. In a thorium reactor it's actually uranium 233 that provides the bulk of the fissionable material.

It's not just neutrons, the gamma will kill you a lot faster.
