While I think reducing CO2 emissions will do something between very little and nothing in regard to our climate, its good to see a plan for energy that doesn't involve oil or polluted air.

The United Arab Emirates will actually start to have serious oil revenue declines within a decade; they are running out of oil and they know it. This is why they are dumping so much money into developing tourism and information technology.

Sounds like something we should be doing... planning for a future with very expensive oil! But so far, it isn't happening....

One can only hope that the US will be less dependent on oil/petroleum and have some leverage ie the proverbial Upper Hand.

I won't be supporting that economy with tourist dollars after having my vacations severely restricted for too many years.

Perhaps the UAE realizes that peak oil production is near. Once their oil is gone they will have to buy it from America. We have more oil here than a lot of people think.

Guys this isn't surprising.

One of the Emirs over there built a entire oasis for animals there. Even built some multi million dollar water desalination plant to give water to these animals. He made it a safe haven for indigenous animals.

Also as someone else has said. They know they are running out of oil. In Dubai they are building a elevated and subterranean subway to get people out of cars etc. These guys are really on the ball.

America is lagging behind but I truly believe in the next year or two thats going to change. Up to this point gas has been reasonable cheap. Now that is changing I think the people of America are going to demand more green living, more mass transit etc.
