Copenhagens state-of-the-art power plant (CopenHill) doubles as a ski slope and rock climbing wall. It's a gamble that is counting on the public visiting and also features a restaurant: https://qz.com/1560143/copenhagens-s...s-a-ski-slope/.

Could we use this technology? Of course it might be better to do a wait and see if they succeed?

Many examples of landfills repurposed after being filled up: https://www.thrillist.com/culture/15...ted-into-parks

The methane produced in the anaerobic conditions of a landfill is also being harnessed for power production. https://www.epa.gov/lmop/basic-infor...l-gas#landfill

"Landfills" as a Treehugger crusade is poorly thought out-- not only do they not take up all that much space, can be reclaimed for recreational use and used to produce energy without resorting to fossil fuel, but they represent a high level of consumerism-- the driving force of the economy that produces jobs and thus a high standard of living (ie- less suffering/better health/longer life).

Thank you for your links and I was aware of some of these projects. I just felt that CopenHill was taking this to another level; but it is a gamble as they point out in that link I posted. They are hopping that the public embraces the new waste furnace and treat it like a resort. They are counting on tourism to help offset operational cost.

Sorry I cannot rep you right now!
