Mark Trail was a widely syndicated newspaper comic strip first appearing in 1946 and running thru the 60s. Mark was a Naturalist who had exciting adventures as he traveled about protecting the environment even before it became politically correct to be concerned. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Trail
It also ran as a radio adventure show for a few yrs. I thought I'd post this here if anyone wanted to relive their childhood or to use the shows as a way to introduce their kids/grandkids to environmental stewardship (and to the pleasures of old-time radio). The Sunday editions of Mark Trail were kind of informative, but when I was a kid I thought the 'regular' comic strip was pretty boring. Same handful of plots rehashed over & over and not much variety in how characters were drawn. I do recall some humorous parodies of it.
