What's the big deal? I mean, I don't want to kill eagles, but it isn't as if they are endangered.

Neither are humans, and I can think of a few who ought to be run through a windmill.

Eagles were removed from the Endangered Species List in 2007 but remain "protected" by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. USFWS: Laws that Protect Bald Eagles Some protection, eh?

Nice.

We may just see the real "silent spring." The turbines kill bats, too. And 75% of those killed are migratory songbirds. People might wake up when we're in mosquito hell.

Wind turbines kill an inconsequential number of birds and bats. New turbine construction includes a year or more assessing the impact on birds and bats before moving forward on a site. In addition new turbines rotate very slowly so the blades are visible to the animals. Some older turbine probably need to be replaced.

You would need to remove every other thing man made to protect animals from running in to them.
birds fly into windows too . may be they should be removed .
I have birds race me and rabbits race me all the time ,it's a challenge they thrive on .
If you pay attention to wild life you can see it all the time smaller animals taunting bigger ones .
Birds are always miscalculating their path, more so now with pole shifting and other weather anomalies .
Look at the thousands of birds the simply dropped out of the sky and no one is taking the heat for that . and how about the massive amount so whaled that are beaching themselves around the world .
Animals can be suicidal .

The wind turbine industry exists solely because the Feds subsidize them. Those subsidies are due to expire soon. Watch for the turbines to go offline.

The Greenies will respond that the Feds also subsidize Big Oil. Answer: BS. That's a $Trillion dollar industry and oil depletion allowance only saves them $1 Billion /yr-- less than 0.1% in benefits.

...now, the president has granted a 30-year extension to those regulations.

To Obama, nothing says America like a dead bald eagle.

The link from the OP says that an exception has been granted that allows high speed turbines. I believe that is the point of this thread.
