You know, when people have NO LEG ON WHICH TO STAND they resort to name calling.
I really resent you calling people who disagree with you 'communist'.
Although American interests are more often than not pre-empted by those of business in our government and many of our policies are skewered in favor of profits for corporations rarther than a healthy and productive life for our citizens - to the point of sending our jobs overseas and lowering the lifestyle and allowing bankruptcies of even the working and insured middle class due to lack of necessary medical care - I don't call the opposition callow corporatists.
Name calling is unproductive.
The fact is that the average American can see his life dwindling away by decisions that he obviously has no contol over. It is not communist to say we should TRY to have some control over our own government, that OUR government should be representing US and not corporations, often whose self-interest no longer corresponds with that of the average American.
No, I don't want to change our government, I just require that it do what the forfathers wanted and get back to representing 'we, the people'.
The most egregious backstabbing is now that our environment is choking us, and indeed, the entire planet.
What kind of future awaits our descendants?
It is no longer time to just bury our heads in the sand and hope things will straighten out. Our very food is poisoning us, and mostly because our government is not protecting us.
Japan, at the first poisoned food gotten from China, refused and still does, ALL Chinese imports into the country.
Britian inspects EVERY cow for mad cow.
We sit by, seemingly, with our thumbs in a dirty place, and just look away because all of this is expensive and not in the best interests of business.
Our companies are fat and lazy and can no longer keep up with the foreign competition. How can this be, you ask? Because they are too often the benefactors of government perks - welfare, if you will. Lean companies know how to compete.
We are going downhill in so many ways, and most of them can be traced to government representing business interests before those of the nation.
THIS TIME we are ready to sacrifice the wellbeing, not just of our own citizens, but of the entire planet. When is enough enough?
We are like sheep, wandering around with blinders as the wolf picks us off, one by one.
I love this country and I love our people. Most of all I love the principles upon which we are founded. Our foundling fathers gave us a system of checks and balances, but never envisioned corporate oligarchies and monopolies that would use the mass of Americans as mere resources - serfs - things to be discarded at will.
More and more average Americans are being stabbed in the back by the very system that they have espoused and defended and sacrificed for.
It has come to us now, poisoning the very planet. If we don't put an end to this it will do so to us. The clock is ticking and the time to act is now.
