A while back I made a statement that I thought a lot of the arctic and glacier melt could be caused by dirty snow, where soot from airplanes and encroaching civilization fell on snow and turned it dark, increasing the snow melt. This article backs me up. It also reinforces my view that the news is now NOT being properly vetted for accuracy, even in what used to be reputable publications.

Interesting article , but as it did mention, the Antartica is getting colder. I would have found it hard to believe , but this summer friends from South Africa have told me that the winters are far more colder the last four years than ever before and more snow in their mountain ranges.

I believe that Jet airliners do more harm than we know however. Their exhaust polution goes up and stays in the upper atmospheres. Remember the climatic effect of the massive Mount St Helens, and both the filippino and Mexican Volcanos. They spewed tons of ash into the upper atmosphere and there were major , though temporary climate changes in many areas as a result. However , Jet Airliners do it constantly. Here's a link below of how clean the atmosphere became after the 911 two week flight ban across Noth America.
