We are getting ready to build a new home and are looking into "green drywall" and while I understand the drywall is made up of 80% recycled material, where does the recycled material come from? Are the contents monitored?
I have been researching fire retardant drywall and the chemicals in the fire retardant are very scary to me but building codes in Virginia state that a garage must have the fire retardant drywall! Are there ways around this or will I be unable to have a green garage?
