My father-in-law recently passed away and we're trying to help find a new place to live for my monther-in-law. (They lived in an old house and she is not able to take care of it by herself. It's also in a bad part of Burlington so she's eager to move somewhere else.)

We are looking for a reasonably priced condo complex where she can buy a place for $50-$100K? In addition, it would be nice if it was a senior-only complex as she'd like to be around other people her age where they have group activities, etc.

We've looked at retirement communities from the phone book but they seem more like assisted-living places. She doesn't need/want all those services as those places were a lot more expensive.

The only one I'm familiar with is Twin Lakes - right on the border of Elon and Burlington. Macromedia Flash Detection

Thanks, we looked there and it is insanely expensive. For a 1,000 square foot apartment they charge a $75K "admission" fee AND $1,500 month rent. DOH!

I about fell over when she told me this. It's not Hawaii for goodness sakes...wow.
