What are the winters like in Greensboro N.C. ? Is there a lot of snow?

The winter in NC generally sucks. Usually it's a lot of cold weather with no snow which is totally useless. As a major snow lover I'm disappointed every winter with the lack of snow.

A lot of cold weather? I guess it depends on where else you've lived. I enjoy the winters in NC...cold enough for change of seasons, but not bitter cold like the northeast, midwest, etc.

We get just the right amount of snow for my liking - I think average (at least a bit east - might be more in the Triad) is about 4"...last winter we had 12" (10" from that one big storm) total in Louisburg, northeast of Raleigh.

We get enough snow to satisfy my need:-) It gets bitter cold at times and other days you need a light weight jacket. We have had very mild winters in the past but the last two years we have definitely had a cold winter with snows.
