Where are there normally lower prices for gas. I live in Old Town, so Somewhere not much further north than Stanleyville, Further west than Pfafftown, further south than the Mount Tabor area, or further East than 52.

That's a little complicated, but I don't want to be driving so far out that I lose the savings. So yeah, using those approximate borders or not straying too much for them. Where can I pay less for my gas.

Thanks for the help

How about what is the bracket that the the high & low numbers range in
for the common gas pump prices around town?

In other words... how much can anyone save by finding the lowest
at any given moment vs the one that is reasonably convenient?

The biggest range difference I've ever seen was about 8 cents a gallon.
As an example: something like $3.39 up to about $3.47; with most at about $3.45.
The lowest being at a small overcrowded old station with slow pumps...
the higher being nicer, bigger, newer stations with fast pumps and other features.

My tank holds a bit over 15 gallons but I'll rarely need more than 14 to "fill 'er up".
That 6 cents per gallon difference (x14) comes out to 84 cents.

I don't see enough price variation to make it worth traveling out of my way to buy gas. I fill up at Costco if I'm nearby, or Sheetz if I'm near work or home.

check the website www.gasbuddy.com. select nc then type in winston. it will tell you the cheapest reported gas and map the stores for you. I use it a lot when traveling. helps a lot.

It really varies. I have seen gas 8 cents or more difference from one side to the other. The thing is they take turns. One side one or two months there the other.
I have seen the around the block thing. The gas house on Old Salisbury Rd. today at $3.36. The Quality Mart on Peters Creek at $3.39. They are owned and operated by the same company. Then you have the Quality Mart in Clemmons which is $3.36 also.

Driving around to save a few cents per gallon doesn't seem "cost effective."

Sam's Club, CostCo, Sheetz, and Citgo almost always have the better pricing.

If you live in Clemmons or Advance...Lowe's Food Gas Station at I-40 & Exit 180-B in Bermuda Run/Advance is pretty good...usually cheaper than gas in Forsyth County (some areas).
