We're new to Greensboro, have been here for a few months renting in the Adams Farm area. We really like that area of town and will be looking for a home to buy in the next 6 months or so. While Adams Farm is nice, we can save about $40k by looking at some slightly smaller, older homes.
Lately we have looked at a few of off Groometown Rd, just east of High Point Rd. I see on google maps that it's called Sedge Park. I looked up some crime maps but they tend to lump this area in with the mall, so of course you're going to have a higher rate of property crime. That's typical near a mall.
Does anybody know anything about this neighborhood? It seemed quiet and safe when we were there, but you never know.
Since you've rented in the Adams Farm area. I'm sure you're well aware that Wendover/Bridford Pkwy gets higher crime statistics due to the shopping areas and major thru ways.
I'm sure you've also noticed that the GPD is "all over it." Adams Farm and the surrounding area is heavily patrolled.
I haven't lived in that area off of Groomtown, but being familiar with Greensboro would say it'd probably be a little quieter and safer vs. Adams Farm? Along High Point Rd. nearby there's Sedgefield Country Club. Vandalia would be more active vs. Groomtown.
