We are at the beginning process of forming a Photographer's Network/Sorority that will be on a volunteer basis for families in the Triad area that are dealing with a seriously ill or preemie NICU baby. The Network/Sorority will meet on a monthly basis and will discuss funding options, schedules, ideas, photography techniques, and other important topics. The first meeting for this brand new Network/Sorority will be held in November 2012, date to be announced. The initial first meeting will be a planning/idea meeting for this brand new endeavor and ideas are welcome.
Photographers must fill out an application and submit photos/website/ or facebook info as a submission of their work. Photographer must be comfortable in all lighting situations and work must be of good quality. All photography is volunteer for these families and is not done in a studio or with props. Photos are taken of babies within their isolettes and their real surroundings as a NICU baby, so photographers must be able to work within those parameters. Photographers must be discreet and go through training with hospital personell before being allowed access to the NICU babies and families.

Our Purpose:
Families who are experiencing the brand new birth of a very ill or very small preemie baby can spend months of time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. The babies can be anywhere from 1 pound up to an average sized baby and still be considered a preemie or have serious medical problems at birth. When families are given the opportunity to have photos taken of their baby, they are given hope and something to look forward to. If they have photos taken weekly or bi-weekly, they are able to see the progression of their child's growth, and once again, they have hope. Many families spend up to 4 months or longer sitting next to the bed of their preemie.
This new Network/Sorority can only happen with the help of volunteers - please contact me today if you think you can be used in any area, or have an idea of another area you may be able to be used.
