Considering a move to Winston-Salem area in a few months, horses in tow. Need information about local boarding, trails, horse property. If no horse property, where's the best place to live to be near city and horses?

you might want to check out Yadkin, Davie, or Davidson County these 3 are border counties that are still rather rural.

The Walnut Cove area is really nice, and there's lots of "horse" stuff up there, and plenty of land to ride on.

Ditto on Walnut Cove, but other areas are quite horsey, too. An area realtor who is a horse person and familiar with country property in the area is Davie County, Forsyth, and Yadkin, NC Real Estate – Janel Hensley She is very pleasant to work with, too!

Also, you may want to post on the message board at NC Horse News:
NC Horse News Message Board

There are horse people from across the state/many disciplines on the board who can help you get connected in your area of interest.

You might also consider southwestern Rockingham County. US 158 to Winston-Salem is fairly convenient. RC is also horse friendly. But Walnut Cove in Stokes County is also a good choice.
