I am trying to find a teaching job close to Winston-Salem NC. I live in Athens, OH so it is somewhat hard for me to hear about teaching openings. IF anyone could give me some information or someone to contact please do!!! I graduate in June 2008 and would love to start teaching ASAP.

You can log on to the North Carolina Department of Ecucation teacher's recuitment site
Teach4NC
It has a whealth of info plus you must register your resume etc. on that site. All state Job openings are placed on that site plus you can access every county school board in NC for additional information on additional job openings. Good luck we're looking into the Wake County area for next year.

I would avoid teaching in Guilford County. Trust me.

I would look into teaching in Forsyth County. What level education are you planning to teach?

You might also want to consider teaching North Davidson, Wallburg or Ledford schools all part of Davidson County School system you will see on the state report card website the schools rank higher than district and state levels in student and teacher performance and lower turnover than the state and district levels.
District Search Results Page

Davidson County Schools - Home

good luck in your search

Default stay away from teaching for Guilford County

[quote=tippster;1770333]I would avoid teaching in Guilford County. Trust me.

I would second that one. I moved here from out-of-state this summer. I never wanted to just walk away from teaching before, but after three months of teaching for Guilford County, I am anxious to find anything else. I am now job searching and praying that something decent opens up somewhere. I love living here, but from the career aspect, I'd love to be back at my old school district even though it wasn't perfect.
