Hey guys! I'm going to get by real estate license and was looking at different places to get them. Do any of you have your license and if so where did you do your pre-licensing course at? Where would you recommend? I was looking at GTCC and ACC, and wondered if their programs are good. If any of yall are agents was the course hard? Was the real estate exam hard?

I don't think they have one for salesperson .. just broker

The website and information at ACC is so screwed up I can't imagine that much education goes on there at all.

I'm a broker and will tell you that real estate sales people are a nickel a dozen if not less. I was licensed in VA, NC, TN & KY ... moved to FL and am licensed here now. They are all about the same.

After you get the pre-license you will have to do the post-license to renew it after a year. You will also be required to work for a brokerage under a broker who, in NC, will typically take half of any sale you may get lucky and make. It will also cost you anywhere from $500 to $1,000 annually to maintain a license, office desk, MLS service, Insurance and membership dues. 3 more years and you can start to get the broker license

Unless you have a real itch your time and effort would be much better spent learning something useful. YOU will not get rich quick selling real estate.

If not then go on-line and find a distance education outfit that you can sign on with and take their course on the Internet. Most use Dearborne for the material.

You will have to take a proctored final and then the state exam ... it is NOT easy so get that out of your head. You either know the material or you do not and you won't BS your way through the test. Probably before you get to your car you will have forgotten 90% of the material and will never need it again anyway - unless you need to re-test ... lol.

Good luck
