I am moving to the Alamance area this spring...hopefully. Does anyone know the name of the local newspaper for that area? What kind of jobs are available in the area. Any information on the area would be helpful. Thanks, Lisa
If you could be more specific with what you want to know that would help. As far as jobs go, Labcorp is the largest employer (I think). They do lab testing for hospitals, business, doc offices, etc. and employee a variety of positions. There is a lot of retail and restaurants in the area, so plenty of those types of jobs. There is a hospital there so there are some medical jobs as well. There is a Honda plant in the area too. It used to be a thriving area for textile jobs, but not so much anymore.
thanks for the information. I am actually a forklift operator, shipping/receiving or general warehouse work. I'm open to anything that one can do to make ends meet. thanks again for the information.
Check the local paper as well as triadcareers.com. Also, call the local employment security commission to see what they say about the current availability of those types of jobs. There are many industries in the area that would offer those types of positions. But even if you don't something right in Burlington, you would be only 30 minutes from Greensboro were there are more job opportunities. I know that there are many employment placement agencies in Greensboro that focus on skilled labor and industrial employment. Good luck!
thanks for the information...every little bit helps.
