Where is "there"? The Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point area? Can you be more specific? Are you looking for a recommendation of a Hyatt hotel to stay in?

For things to do with your children, you might be interested in Wet 'n Wild Emerald Point Water Park, Celebration Station and Natural Science Center in Greensboro, and SciWorks, Old Salem and the Children's Museum in Winston-Salem.

Go on google maps...look at intersection of 68 and 40. Turn hotels on. Almost every hotel chain is available.
This is a safe area, and you can find hotels in all price ranges.

There are a lot of thrift stores...we like Freedom House Thrift on Battleground.
There is a Goodwill about a half a mile North (on the left) (google for exact address)

Greensboro Science center is awesome. There is a sci-quarium (with penguins), and an outdoor zoo.

There is also a children's museum downtown.

There are plenty of Goodwills around for thrift shopping, but also check out Design Archives and some of the other independent shops downtown. Also Elsewhere sounds like it would be of interest to you. The main part of downtown is generally safe most hours as long as you aren't out way late and wandering side streets.

I'm not much for thrift shopping but the Red Collection has two locations. It is consignment.

Ever had chicken & waffles? If not head to Dames downtown. If you have go there anyway.
