Stratosjets gathered 37,171 geotagged tweets from June 1, 2014, to July 20, 2015, that contained the terms “tourist” and “tourists.”
The company then used AlchemyAPI sentiment analysis to judge if the tweets were positive or negative.
While it’s not exactly a scientific or foolproof way of determining people’s feelings about tourists, it does serve as something of a social media survey.
Greensboro came in at No. 7 on the list of cities that like tourists the least.
