Which would you choose to live in and why, preferably utilizing some form of analytical thought versus some preconceived notions. Thanks!

Are you asking because you're considering those 2 cities, or asking just as an academic exercise?

I'd pick HP. Its making great strides to improve, with a downtown baseball stadium, HP University growing and expanding, new restaurants, breweries, etc., plus its closer to G'boro and W-S.

"Which would you choose to live in and why..."

Burlington.
1. HP has had lots of crime problems. B has not "caught up" yet.
2. really good Hospitals. B is closer to more than HP.
3. B public schools are AVG. HP schools (as our son says) suck.

This site says HP has a lower overall crime rate, lower violent crime rate and lower property crime rate than Burlington:

Both city's hospitals get 3 out of 5 stars for "patient experience"

Schools are very specific. Saying one city is better or worse than another is impossible.

I'd choose High Point as it's close to W-S and GSO.

I'm not as familiar with High Point, but Burlington has some interesting spots.

Burlington and High Point are almost equidistant from Greensboro — 5 minutes difference.

Burlington is closer to Chapel Hill and Durham. High Point is closer to Winston.

I don't know that I would pick either if I needed to live in that area. Why is the choice between those two?

Don't know much about Burlington myself, but I think that's a big selling point for HP here. Living in Northern HP myself, I think it's great being only about 20-25 minutes from both.

Not to mention, while Burlington is a bit closer to Raleigh (about an hour), High Point puts you a bit closer to Charlotte and still in reach of Raleigh (about an hour and a half from both while Burlington is about two hours from Charlotte). As has been mentioned, High Point is starting to gain a little momentum with the stadium development.

Is that what was used to paint you into this two poor choice options corner?
