i pass thru greeensboro everyday to get to my job near colfax and these are roads i know that either have confusing interchanges/intersections, blind corners/random lane endings, or simply have congestion & high crash rates.
battleground ave (aka us 220 north) - during afternoon hours
burlington rd/us 70 interchange at wendover avenue's eastern terminus.
i-40 / historic 85 (the 5-route death valley) from exits 217-224, and every road that intersects it
mcconnell rd and east market st east of downtown
bessemer avenue
some portions of wendover ave
randleman rd and elm eugene st
us 29 north/ n'ohenry from i40 till the us 70/220 splits at wendover.
us 29 south (former i-85 (business)) from greensboro to jamestown
despite how far i-840 has come, these roads are still difficult and treacherous to drive on.
is greensboro and ncdot pouring all of their money into i-840 or are they setting any money aside for some of these other roadways in guilford simultaneously?
also what are other roadways u find to be dangerous?

I don't even live in Greensboro, and don't think think any of these roads are dangerous to drive on. Maybe a little confusing the first time through, but nothing remotely treacherous.

I agree. I guess it may be about one's own context. After living in both DC and Charleston, Greensboro seems easy.
Of course, with budgets being what they are, some of these projects could easily get pushed back, but at this point, these are on the table.
On your list, my pet peeve is West Wendover Avenue, close to I-40, particularly with lanes randomly ending and beginning, which causes a lot of potential accidents with traffic having to constantly change lanes.
I think the biggest problem area is the 85/29 split. In the afternoons... north bound traffic in the far right lane often backs up past the Elm-Eugene interchange trying to access 29. People just speed along in the middle lane.... and then at the last minute try to merge into the right lane to go onto 29. Southbound traffic starts slowing down before you get to Gate City Blvd on some afternoons.
There’s an exit off Business 85/I-40 that has traffic exiting on the left hand side of the highway that seems kind of dangerous.
There was another exit nearby where there was a lot going on (surface road+other highway in the same exit too)
On the West side of Greensboro, 40 has somewhere between 10 and 12 lanes at that one exit with all the gas silos on it. I don’t even think Raleigh gets that wide on the Beltline! and I highly doubt Charlotte gets that wide too.

Yeah... that left lane exit to Randleman road off of 40 east can be problematic because its a exit only lane.... and often people don't see or ignore the Yellow Sign posted a 1/2 mile or so ahead of the exit.. and use that lane to pass ... before having to suddenly move into the thru lanes.

I think there’s another left lane exit in Asheboro off 73 with the left lane exit, but it doesn’t have as much going on as the Randleman Road exit does.
