I live in FL but have visited the W-S area many times. I’d like to buy a couple acres of property in a rural area and definitely want a Mountain View. I don’t have a realtor yet, so if anyone knows of any who can explain things well for someone not living in the area, please let me know.

But my main question is which area would be best? So far I’ve been looking in King, Pinnacle, Pilot Mountain and Mount Airy. I want to be out of town, but within 20-30 min of a grocery store, Walmart, etc. I wouldn’t be building anytime soon, but would like to down the road. Just wanted to get opinions on areas. Thank you!

You've pretty much identified the only areas close to Winston-Salem that affords any sort of mountain view. Do you want to be within a certain distance of W-S? If you're flexible on that, I'd add western Surry County and Wilkes County to your list.

Thank you! Ideally I would like to be within 45 min or so of W-S. Sounds like I need to stick to the towns I’m already looking at, but just trying to figure out if one area is better than the others.
