Hello everybody,
We're a couple of empty nester's now that our daughter has transferred locations with her job at a VA clinic in southern Vermont, to Fayetteville, NC. My wife isn't gonna be happy now being about 900 miles away from her "baby", and I get that for sure. That said, we're looking to purchase a few acres of either raw land or a home with a decent sized workshop (12 ft. high door, 30x50 or bigger,) in Johnston county (Kenly, Selma, Pine Level, Micro, Smithfield...) to start off with for placing a 5th wheel camper on, for trips down to see her and a place to stay while there. Reason for this area is, she'll possibly transfer again in a year to Greenville, NC, so we'll be positioned properly for that.
I have friends in Smithfield and Selma, all whom are aware of this and looking for us too. I have been a lurker on CityData.com for well over 15 years, kind of keeping an eye on values and trends in different areas of the country, so I thought I'd come on here and post my request.
So to clarify; a "couple of acres" of land could be anything from 2 to several, up to 10 acres if it's affordable, raw land. Can be off the beaten path a few miles off the big roads too...for privacy.
Or, an existing home for two/three people, and a big barn or shop would make it perfect. I am in the heavy equipment transport and sales business, so I need a shelter to work on big equipment, and a big yard to get around with big trucks, etc.
Just putting an A.P.B. out there for something like this...so if anyone knows of anything, especially a small tract of land that I can just buy outright immediately, I'd be appreciative. So will the better half.
Kenly, Selma, Micro, Pine Level, Smithfield...anywhere around the I-95 and US 70 corridors, but off and away from them a bit is what we're hoping for.
Thanks in advance, and hopefully someone has just what we're looking for here.
PS: I'm not sure if this post belongs in this thread (Triad Area,) or if it belongs in the Triangle Area threads...so if a moderator wants to move it to the proper place I'd understand. (I'm not sure of the difference between the two areas, sorry.)
