We are contemplating a move to Greensboro. Because we like old houses and because of the location of the potential job that would take us there, we are researching closer-in neighborhoods. We have a middle schooler, and the neighborhoods we're looking at all seem to use one of three schools: Aycock, Kiser, or Mendenhall. I've looked at school report cards, test scores, etc., but they're not that informative on what the schools are actually like to attend. Anyone have any experience to share? Or any thoughts on Page vs. Grimsley, the relevant high schools?
Also, our daughter would probably qualify for the VSN program at the Academy at Lincoln. Does anyone have any experience with this program, and if so, what do you think would be the pros or cons of enrolling her there as opposed to one of the neighborhood schools?
