I've been to Weathervane for a Food Truck Saturday, and the surrounding area seems nice and peaceful. Not too far from Winston-Salem

Nothing. We have nothing at all. I have spent my entire life looking forward to nothing. It's fine. I'm used to it.

I don't own any guns. Therefore, it isn't "something". Do you feel like a "man" trolling this thread?

Not you personally, but culturally. Dang dude, there's actually a Southern band called Guns N' Chicken. The last time I parked at the Kingfisher trailhead for a run, the map sign was riddled with bullet holes. With Bojangles trash on the ground. Go figure.

Personally, I'd steer the OP away from the Triad altogether. Chesapeake is a much better fit for a Northerner.

Educational attainment in Davidson County is low even by local standards, with a HS graduation rate of 86% and a Bachelor's or higher of 19%. For comparison, the two counties that I pay taxes in, Guilford (NC) and Middlesex (MA) have numbers of 90%/37% and 94%/58% respectively.

Did you notice that the word "intellectual" was italicized in my previous post? I am aware that Davie County is very rural and undereducated, especially compared to Guilford County. It was a poor attempt at sarcasm on my part. I suppose this is why the Chick-Fil-A announcement made the “breaking news” in the local press.

I admit that "Guns N' Chicken" is .... funny.

Why do you say that? Hey, the slower the better. Just want peace and quiet. Me and wife aren't spring chickens so no keg parties for us. On occasion, Chick Fil-A has a pretty good chicken sandwich. All jokes aside. For what we are looking for, Davidson county seems to have more housing inventory than Chesapeake, VA. Still doing our due diligence.

Since you mentioned Middlesex, MA -my next door neighbors are from Baaaastin (Boston) and I have worked hard to teach them "hick". They are making great progress. My goal is to turn them into full-fledged, baccy chewing cultural literates. I would be happy to teach you as well, fer a bucket of fried chicken. Who knows, you and I could possibly go to a "Guns N' Chicken" concert one day.
