As one who often travels via Wendover Avenue in Greensboro, I have been struck by how poorly maintained many of the signs along that route appear.

After several months of deteriorating legibility, I went to the City of Greensboro website and found a link to report street signs. A couple days later, I received a phone call, informing me that while the city was well aware of the situation-- and supposedly they receive several reports each week-- unfortunately the city could do nothing about this, because those signs were the responsibility of the state.

So I then found a similar link for the state, submitted my request, and a few days later received a reply that said "new signs have been ordered, and would be in place soon." This was in late August. So now we wait.

There is also one ground level sign that is completely overgrown, and in need of an intervention with a weed whacker!

Here's what some of the signs look like Labor Day, 2023.

Thank you so much for doing this. I've often thought about reporting the signs but never took the necessary steps. I appreciate this act of good citizenship.

Pleased to report that as I drove east on Wendover Avenue in GSO today, it is obvious that the deteriorated signage has been replaced. Not sure of the exact date it was done, but near the end of October.
Kudos to whatever department of NJ DOT is responsible.
