I relocated to Greensboro in May after getting a job at Gilbarco. Anywhere in the northwestern part of the city is very quiet and the rent is extremely reasonable. I pay $610/mo. for over 1,000 sq. ft. West Wendover Ave. is the trendy part of town with all the big box stores (Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Costco) and several dining establishments. If you can put up with the hellish congestion, it's favored among many newcomers. However, the rent is ridiculously elevated and I think "gated communities" are a total crock. I personally enjoy living out by the airport, as you never hear planes take off and it's quiet and separated from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city. To each his own, however. I'm a young, single male so it fits me fine. Welcome to the sprawling city of Greensboro!

I know we would be moving before June of next year, and I'm hoping sooner. Would love to hear more about your house. We really don't want
to buy for at least a year until we know where we really want to buy.
Sounds like a wonderful area.
Thanks,
Brenda

It is a premier employer in the triad area. Nothing compares to how Volvo takes care of it's employees' needs at work and in life. Great programs for work/life balance. Financial Division is separate from Volvo Trucks NA yet under Volvo Group. I would highly recommend anyone looking for long-term stability+career growth to seek employment at Volvo. You can check out the website and find out more. Volvo's website is unlike any other.
Volvo’s Internet presence has been ranked number 4 on Byte Level Research's list of “Top 20 Global Web Sites”. The list is an outcome of a report where the recently upgraded approach on Volvo Group : home is referred to as best practise.
Read more about the report at Byte Level Research: Think Outside the Country.

I got little sidetracked there about the website, but overall Volvo Group NA is a great employer and with MACK relocating; it's presence in triad becomes even more stronger.

Good Luck.

So many Mack and Volvo people live in Adams Farm which has walking trails and is close to shops and such. And a whole 10 minutes to the Volvo Campus!

Why not buy? I've helped quite a few folks from Volvo and Mack find homes in the area. You will not miss the Allentown weather, trust me!

Welcome Mack Truck transferees. I was born and raised in Pottsville PA and my husband worked for Mack Trucks in Allentown for 10 years. We relocated to the Greensboro NC area. We love it here!
