Out of curiosity I stopped at the Red Oak brewery today and inquired as to where one could purchase a growler. Guess what? They sell it there!!
Growlers are $15 for one or $25 for two and available flavors are; Red Oak, Hummingbird, & Battleground Bock.
Brewery tours are on Fridays @ 3pm.
Red Oak makes very good beer. I love both Red Oak and Battlefield Black. I'm just miffed that they relocated the Brewery further east--makes the drive from my house a lot longer!
Oh, and a growler is 1/2 gallon (roughly the same as a six-pack).
Refills are the same price as I understand it.
It tastes just like it does from the tap; actually I think it tastes better.
And be warned, once you open you need to consume it in about a 48hr time frame. It goes flat in a hurry.
^ Oh yes, it's that good. The growler price is roughly $2.50 per beer. You'll pay $3.50 and up in a bar, so you're saving somewhere between $5-10 or more total. It's probably not worth driving a long way for it, but if you're in the area anyway it's not a bad deal. Besides, Red Oak is my wife's favorite, and I always get big thanks when I bring some home to her (wink, wink).
Ya'll making my mouth water...... :P RED OAK BEER. YAYUS!
