Last year my wife and I ate at Smiley's,and we were blown away at how good it was! We were running short of time and we couldn't find Lexington BBQ for some reason. Smiley's was the best BBQ I ever had until this year.
My wife and I went back to Lexington for a mini-tour of Lexington BBQ this year. First we went to Lexington BBQ,and it became the best BBQ we ever had. Then we both went to Speedy's BBQ,and had a sandwich apiece. Speedy's then moved to the top! We rode up to Welcome,NC to see Richard Childress racing and let our food settle. We were going to stop at Smiley's on the way back,but we were still full so went to our next planned stop The BBQ Center. OMG it was the best sandwich ever by far!!!!
All three joints we tried this year were awesome,but THE BBQ Center gets my vote. That place is incredible! Regrettably,We wound up not going back to Smiley's because we were just too full.
I would love to go back to all the places we mentioned again someday.
