What do y'all know? We are looking at buying a house behind the post office. Got teenage kids, and have done a basic 'check the area out'....

What specific information are you interested in? It is a very small town with a small town atmosphere, except that it does not have much of a traditional downtown area to walk from business to business. Byrnes is a decent high school with a perennially good football program. Depending on your needs/desires, you will likely be traveling to shop and/or dine out most of the time. Spartanburg and Greer are within relatively short distances.

District 5 schools is one of the better districts in Spartanburg County and one of (if not the) fastest growing. There has been tons of new construction over the past 5-10 years.

As was said, Lyman is nicely set in-between Spartanburg and Greer for major shopping and dining, and of course there is Greenville.
