Hi,

I just moved to the area. I got a flyer on my mailbox today for Upstate Takeout. Has anyone heard of this business? We had something similar in FL where I moved from, and it was really helpful.

Thank you everyone!

Lots of info on google about this:

Quote:
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- An Upstate couple launched a new business on Thursday that provides delivery for takeout food and grocery shopping services.
Ryan Feasel and his wife created Upstate Takeout. They plan on bringing your favorite restaurant or grocery store to your front door.
Feasal says all you have to do is give them a call and tell them what you want for takeout. They will pick it up and deliver it to you for a fee.
The company will also do your grocery shopping. Feasal said customers will place their grocery lists online and give them 24 hours notice.
"You are going to have to tell us exactly what you want in brands and if you would take generic items," said Feasal.
Right now Upstate Takeout is only offering delivery service to people within a six-mile radius of the intersection of interstates 85 and 385.
For more information about the company, including hours and prices, visit upstatetakeout.com.

With the rise in gas prices, their modest fee of $4.99 for take out delivery is reasonable.

They also charge $9.99 for grocery delivery. Seeing that I hate going to the grocery store, it may be a good deal. Most people don't stick to their lists and end up buying more than $10 over their grocery budget anyway. The only problem I would see is that I like to use coupons...not sure how they would/could handle that.

So true! I wish them success, and hope to take advantage of their service soon! Would be nice not to have to fight traffic to get takeout from my fave Thai place...

I also wish them luck, but at those prices I can't see how they can make it work unless they make a lot in tips.

I know they had this in Broward, never saw it in Dade County. Not a service I would personally use, but in the right market, in exclusive areas it's probably big. Not sure how it would go over in the market they are in, but always wish success to legit businesses!

Yes, I was thinking the same thing - curious as to how this company makes it in this market...
