Three great communities around Greenville.

After a lot of research and a 2 day visit, my Wife and I have decided on the Greenville area.

Because of our short visit, we located three communities that appeal to us.
They were Sycamore Ridge near Simpsonville, Cobbs Glen Country Club and Brookstone Meadows both in Anderson.

Using these three communities as examples, are there anymore communities around the are that we missed?

All three are newer homes close to a golf course.

Yes there are quite a few others around Greenville to consider.

This list is incomplete and in no particular order, but it should be helpful:

Greater Easley Area:
  • Middlecreek
  • Westchester
  • Providence
  • Smithfields Country Club
  • Rolling Green Golf
  • Country Lakes (Southern Oaks GC)

Greater Greenville Area:
  • Pebble Creek
  • Green Valley Country Club
  • Hampton Grove at Green Valley
  • Carolina Springs
  • Thornblade
  • Greenville Country Club
  • Chanticleer
  • Shoals Crossing at Bonnie Brae

Default Nice Developments

I looked up the two locations in Anderson since we are considering that area more than Greenville for familiy reasons. I liked Brookstone Meadows and the floor plan of one of the cottages. There is one problem; we do not play golf or tennis. Do the HOA fees include the use of these amenities or are they optional.

I have requested information but I consider your opinion, as a buyer, as more important that the seller's. Please let me know what you liked and disliked about this property.

Thanks.

A few additions in the luxury category that some will want to check out include:
  • The Cliffs Communities (several beautiful locations)
  • The Reserve at Lake Keowee

The Cliffs Communities, headquartered in Travelers Rest, continues to gain a better international reputation. Travel + Leisure Golf Magazine, an international publication, has ranked The Cliffs #5 on its annual list of America's Top 100 Communities, according to the January/February issue. The collection of golf and wellness neighborhoods has been on the list four consecutive years now, soaring to #7 on last year's list. According to a recent Greenville News article, Scott Beville, president of Cliffs Real Estate Inc., says that "more than 100 families have joined The Cliffs in the past six months"

Quote:
Home sites in the communities sell from $200,000 to more than $3 million, and custom homes are priced from $700,000 to $5 million.
Additionally, The Cliffs at Keowee Springs is home to the International Institute of Golf, considered "the best practice facility in the world."

Default Brookstone Meadows

According to the Anderson Multiple Listing Service the agents have the amenities listed as pool, street lights, club house, common areas, golf course, tennis and walking trail. The HOA fees varied from house to house ranging from $525 to $375 per year.

You may also want to look at Covered Bridge at Jones Creek. It is located close to Brookstone Meadows. Covered Bridge at Jones Creek is a new state of the art 220 acre gated community in Anderson County, just off of 85 and close to shopping. Amenities to include a resort-style pool, lazy river, hiking trails, private camping area, pavilion, amphitheater, club house, duck pond, conservation wetlands, and more. All of this, plus it's in Anderson District 1 schools. Conveniently located close to shopping, restaurants, andthe hospital.

Another neighborhood that is in Anderson District 1 but close to Greenville is River Reserve. PS we also liked Sycamore Ridge but it was too far out from d'town Greenville for us.

You ought to check out Hollingsworth Park, Verdae which is in the City of Greenville. It is very well located-less than 10 minutes to downtown and there is a beautiful golf course, Verdae Greens, right across the street from the residential area.
