Hey everybody,
My son-in-law is working at an industrial battery plant in PA. He works with lead and such. The place makes batteries for airplanes. He really wants to be here with mom and dad, but I haven't been here long enough to know of any type of battery or tire related places that he might apply to.
Any suggestions? I know everyone is searching as well but at least if he has a direction, he can wait it out if necessary. Thanks so much for any help

There's a little, tire-related company headquartered in these parts called Michelin.

You do not mention his skills and I think that is what you have to identify. Then look for a job that requires similar skills in any industry. Try and figure out what makes him a good employee and start sending letters to all (not just those advertising) employers stressing his good qualities and that he needs to relocate (spelled I will move at my own expense, you do not have to pay) to assist his parents. You may have to send out a few hundred letters so be willing to work at this. I would also suggest he says I will be visiting in the area during the week of (probably three weeks after the date of the letter) and would appreciate it if I could stop in for an interview. The idea is that most employers might not want to invite him in for an interview because of the time and costs to him of getting to the interview. Thus remove the road blocks. If you really like the company consider a follow up call to the HR department. Start by sending out 50 letters on the first of each month and say you will be in town during the last week of the month.
