Based on the soon-to-be launched new website from Greenville Forward, I thought this site would be a good place to share similar ideas, wishes, dreams, visions, etc., for the Upstate.

What if... the Upstate had a well-funded regional transit system?

What if... ____________________________________?

etc.

I would be in heaven! That, to me, is the only thing that is holding the Greenville/Spartanburg area from being a world-class region. Light rail between the downtowns and a strong bus system would make so much sense in this region.

Along with that idea,

What if... Upstate leaders would create strict guidelines for new development and redevelopment in an effort to halt the unsustainable suburbanization that has plagued the region couple decades and direct public and private investments toward more sustainable urban neighborhoods?

What if...GSP Airport became a hub/focus city for a major airline like JetBlue or Southwest? Wait...I got it:

What if....Krispy Kreme and IHOP located downtown?

They built an entertainment complex/town center consisting of bars with different entertainment, bowling, pool hall, movies, etc. A place where you could go out, everything would be in one spot and you won't have to drive place to place. The center of it could be a place/main stage for special events, festivals and holiday events.

Everyone can be happy when going out b/c there will be an assortment of things to do.
