the notice on the door says they plan to sell for "on premise consumption". and it's a fairly small location.

Sounds like one of those places where they have the "wine on tap" and you can go around and taste wines. Those places are usually pretty small with a few high bar tables. Just guessing by the name though..

Probably piggybacking on the success of places like the Community Tap on Wade Hampton. The Tap sells beer in "growlers" (1/2 and 1 gallon refillable bottles) with something like 10 beers and 4 or 5 wines on tap to pick from.

Heck, even Whole Foods is selling beer growlers now!

Cork and tap is a one of a kind shop, not a chain. It's a mix of Greenville beer exchange/community tap and north Hampton wines. They sell beer by growlers and 6 packs and wine by the bottle. They do not sell wine growlers. They are different from g beer exchange and c tap because you can taste the beer before buying. They also sell beer by the pint and wine by the glass in their bar area. They opened this past Monday. I live around the corner and checked it out. That place rocks!! Will definitely be getting my growlers there. Don't like having to buy growers without tasting. Plus, my wife likes the wine selection. Good to have something like this over this way!!
