From what I've seen the police are just showing a high visibility presence and don't hassle people. That's good even at a Saturday morning farmer's market where their presence discourages a crime of opportunity, tempted by cash transactions.

My advice: 1.Don't get drunk in public, bro. 2.Never resist arrest, bro.

Says something about that school district if they want this clown back teaching their young children.

Well, that's good to know. I don't have a problem with that at all.

I'm glad he's fighting this. It looks like he was arrested for...

What was he arrested for? Being in a public place? Is that illegal? Being somewhere?

I can only speculate that maybe it was disturbing the peace.

Read the article

Read between the lines and it comes up DRUNK. Fine person to be teaching our children.

Usually if someone is (too) drunk, they get charged for that. Drunk in public, public intoxication, or whatever it's called. He wasn't charged with that. No need to read between any lines. How do you know ANYTHING about how good a teacher this guy is (or isn't) based on this one little snippet of his life, that may or may not be accurately portrayed in one news article? We've only heard one side! Are teachers not supposed to ever go to a bar? Or be in public at night?

The whole thing's on tape, apparently. So I'll let the jury look and decide before any more speculation.

Known facts about this case, according to the reporter:

Reason for the arrest = A "disorderly conduct" charge
Reason for the taser = "He resisted arrest"

Disorderly conduct ≠ "being in a public place" (If it did, then everyone would be arrested.)

OK, if he was not drunk he was just being a jerk. Moral of story - Do not resist arrest even if you think you are inocent and you will not be tasered and thus not have your mug shot on TV.
