With as many restaurants that the Greenville area has, I wish there were more of a variety to choose from.
Do you ever buy certificates from that site? If so, which ones?
I actually have never bought any because of the selection but if you got a really good deal somewhere perhaps I might be willing to try a restaurant I might not have otherwise consider.
We usually buy the Corona ones. Sometimes Cafe Paulista Grill is on there- I haven't been there, but have heard it's good and wanted to try it sometime.
What really sweetens the deal is if you go through a website like Mr. Rebates - Cash Back Rebate Shopping at over 2000 Stores by VD they really have a great deal going on! See below. You sign up, then go to the website you want and you get whatever percentage back in an account that they will send you the money quarterly, I believe it is.
Restaurant.com 30% Cash Back Rebate
Take out the love of your life on a special date! Now you can get $25 Restaurant.com Gift Certificates for as low as $2. Use code "SWEETIE" at check out now thru 2/14.
Also good for Groupon if you buy from there, you get 6% back from them for purchases made through their website. Actually, there's a lot of great websites that give you cash back - I just wish I would remember half of them when I make a purchase.
Ebates is another good one, I actually like them better than MrRebates but their percentage isn't nearly as good as the one above.
The last one I bought was Yia Yia's and it was $25 off $50 purchase or more, I paid $3.50 after going through Ebates. Ebates is good if you purchase from Groupon too, though it's only 3%.
There's almost always a promotion going on to get the certificates for $2 instead of $10, so that's a huge help. I've used Restaurant.com many times, and I dig it.
Make sure to read the terms though, there's usually a minimum tab amount of $35 - $50, and sometimes there are restrictions such as which days you can use them and if you can use them for drinks or not.
It's always very clearly laid out though, so there are no surprises.
Give it a try! Have fun!
I usually go through Mrrebates or ebates for cash back....love those sites. I just got 45.00 from my Christmas spending. It's a nice surprise when it shows up in your paypal acct.
The thing is usually if you buy a 50.00 certificate (even is you only pay 2.00 for it) you have to at least buy 100.00 of food + 18% tip, etc so it still costs a lot especially if just 2 people.
It seems like unless you are paying for a group, you don't really make out in the deal.
not so much now that you can't use the codes for the higher end places, I used to get great deals at brown street jazz club, 100 dolllar gift certificates for 10 or 20 bucks bucks or whatever
they've changed it a lot, the stipulations are up to the restaurant though, so if there are a lot you can blame them

I had thought that too. With the coupon, I usually pay (bill + gratuity) close to the total on the bill. So it is like not haveing to leave a tip.
