For natural trails in parks - Cleveland Park would be a good bet:

Fernwood Nature Trail
Eagle Trail
Troop 19 Trail

But the real gem is Paris Mountain State Park - with many miles of well-maintained nature trails.

For dog parks - Cleveland Park has the Canine Corner Dog Park. Other dog parks: Pelham Mill, the Pavilion.

A few more county parks with nature trails: Cedar Falls Park (Fountain Inn area) and Lake Conestee Nature Park.

This summer would seem to be a good time to visit to get an idea on bugs. We haven't had much winter here this year and in fact I've already had bugs fly in the house this year. Since we didn't have a long hard freeze bugs are going to be plentiful this summer.
