Very cool! Even if it doesn't end up hitting it out of the park, this kind of thing (admittedly among many other factors) looks good for this area when people and companies are deciding on where to relocate.

EPA recognizes Greenville electric-vehicle project

Quote:
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized the EV Ecosystem project that has led to electric-vehicle charging stations being installed throughout Greenville.

EV Ecosystem is part of the three-pronged Greening of Greenville project that also includes LED lighting upgrades and energy-efficiency upfits at commercial buildings. Greening of Greenville launched in 2011 as a partnership between the city, Greenville County, GE, Duke Energy, Hubbell Lighting, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and others.

For a while, the electric vehicle only parking spaces in the Poinsett Garage were always empty.

I'm glad I didn't go out and buy and electric car with the knowledge that I could plug in while at work each day . . . just to have those spaces all filled with WeCars!
