This info was very helpful to me..I just hate snow and don't like driving in it. I grew up in PA but moved to OH from Atl. Thinking about moving from here b/4 next winter so I'm looking into Greenville..
Maybe we can squeeze out some snow for Saucystargazer today - she missed the Upstate's biggest snow in 2 years several weekends ago (beautiful snow!). Perhaps better chances for snow here mid-week (especially in NC).
Total snowfall around the area so far this year (from official weather reporting stations):
Hrm. I'm not sure how accurate that total snowcast is. My parents are in Raleigh and a few weekends ago they had at least 3inches. They said it turned to rain the the afternoon though and melted a bunch so maybe the reading was taken later. I also thought asheville had a few 1inch events this year. Then again if that is recordings from the airport, well the airport is ALWAYS under reporting for the rest of the area because of where it sits.
I thought I saw those when I went to get my mail around noon today but figured it was the wind blowing stuff off the trees that have started to bloom.
You might be right; it seemed to be coming down instead of sideways in the wind, but might have just been coming out of a group of trees. It went on for about 1/2 mile as I was driving, but I didn't get out to catch some to confirm snow.
I thought I saw something driving back to work after lunch. My husband works in downtown and takes walks at lunch and said he thought he saw a few flakes too.
