I grew up in ATL and have been here in beautiful Greenville for 16 years. It is happening. It has begun.
I hope that the local leaders have a clue on how to get a handle on it or the Upstate beauty and old town charm will be lost. We will then have chaos and filth.
They MUST provide activities for the disadvantaged children, focus on the school system, keep their streets clean and beef up their police force. They must also get their zero tolerance laws set and do not waiver. Crime follows the crowd so they can abuse it for profit and be able to blend in. The Leaders must set guidlines for businesses (sign laws, predatory business laws, strict building codes) and keep out the trash who just want to pull money from the community, draw in sleeze and not positively give back. (Look at White Horse Road and Hwy 123 in Easley)
Upstate Leaders do your research on where ATL came from and where it is now. Protect our beautiful Upstate. Don't just throw in anything to bring in money and then wait to do damage control. Start NOW.
