ah, WYFF spilled the news today.

Mysterious jetpack rental billboards explained | Greenville News - WYFF Home

One of my coworkers built the site and it was fun watching the traffic and news come in on it while it was still under wraps.

Before the reveal, I was just about to note the similarity between the Greenville Jetpack logo and Southeastern Freight Lines logo - Southeastern Freight Lines , not that I would have guessed a connection though.

Did you really expect anything other than to be quite underwhelmed?

Sure, why not? It could have been something cool. Somebody mentioned Jet Blue, which would have made more sense than a bicycle.

(I do hope the bike company does well though.)

I am going to sue them for false advertising. I was getting so excited about the opportunity to have a jet pack. I even got out my secret decoder ring so I could play spy.

Obviously I am just kidding but I am sure someone here will think I am serious.

Having the bike rentals should be good. Hopefully it will encourage people who do not currently ride to give it a try. The SRT is such a great asset to this city.

Absolutely!

I'd love to see it be a commuting possibility for some people. If I lived in the West End and worked north of McBee, I'd use it, but then again, I'd probably just purchase a bike if storing it was convenient.

Are they placing any at McBee Station? With all of those apartments, I'd think that would be a missed opportunity if not.

I might just join for a year for the heck of it.
