Sherwin Williams is going onto Batesville Road, close to Regions Bank. Another Sherwin Williams will be going onto Tandem Drive off of Hwy. 14 in Greer, near the airport, as soon as the lease is finalized.

It is not. Wild Ace is moving towards the large public parking lot off of Depot Street. They are pretty much building new. The location that I spoke of is on West/East Poinsett in a row of historic buildings (closer to the furniture store).

A truck with Genghis Grill decals was parked out front. Now they could have been delivering food but I prefer to hope for the best. :-) We'll see. That would be an excellent addition to the downtown.
I just called and the guy that runs Ghengis Grill that has Ghengis Grill stickers on his car said he lives in Greer but they have NO plans of opening up a Greer location. He said it was too close to the Greenville location but they might open up a Spartanburg location one day.

Bummer.

They should open up one downtown. It'll be slammed if they do (downtown Greenville that is).

Default Bi-Lo #5297, Collins Corner, 14154 East Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greer, South Carolina 29651-1554

Bi-Lo Holdings could be closing more stores than it announced two weeks ago.

Bi-Lo #5297, Collins Corner, 14154 East Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greer, South Carolina 29651-1554, could be closing in early 2015 according to some rumors. Its immediate competition is a Walmart Supercenter. The store, replacing another store in 1992 or 1993, has not undergone an update since it expanded 15 years ago. It does not have a pharmacy, nor is there a pharmacy nearby after CVS Pharmacy relocated.

If Bi-Lo #5297 closes, east Greer will be without a traditional supermarket.

Sorry to hear that - I hope that Vito's can still be a viable restaurant, since there won't be grocery store traffic to draw from, and that the main store in that center will be empty for a while. But I can see that WalMart is eating their lunch since they are just down the road.

The loss of a supermarket in any successful retail center can leave a negative effect on other business and restaurants feeding on one's business.

East Greer can support a supermarket. Bi-Lo is not the preferred supermarket. I do not know if Ingle's Markets and Publix would consider filling the void with an additional store. Greer is growing eastward toward Lyman and Duncan.

Bi-Lo #5297 has reduced its hours of operation recently. Instead of closing at 2300 hours (11 pm), it closes daily at 2200 hours (10 pm). Reduced hours of operation is usually a sign a store is about to close.

^^So they are closing both the Taylors and Greer locations of Bi-Lo on Wade Hampton? That is a major commercial corridor, and all of these recent Bi-Lo closings do not sound like things are going well. But there is surprisingly a Food Lion remaining on Wade Hampton in Lyman that could serve the eastern side of Greer.

Yes, both stores #5289, Hampton Point, 3039 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Taylors, South Carolina 29687-2777; and #5297 are closing. Bi-Lo #5289, along with #5006, 2712 Anderson Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611-5943, are operating with reduced hours and inventory reduction sales. Bi-Lo #5297's closing will come after the holidays.

Without Bi-Lo #5297, customers shopping for groceries would choose between Walmart Supercenter #2687, Hillview Plaza, 14055 East Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greer, South Carolina 29651-1500; or driving futher to either west Greer or Lyman.

Food Lion #2642, located at 300 Spartanburg Highway, Lyman, South Carolina 29365-1809, is not doing well. It usually has an empty parking lot, or not many cars in it. Bi-Lo #5446, located at 12189 Greenville Highway, Lyman, South Carolina 29365-1511, is constantly busy. It would not be unexpected to see Food Lion #2642 close.
