My wife's friends husband who is a contractor told her the other day that Publix is for sure going there.

I have heard Publix continues to seek locations in the Greer and Taylors areas for additional stores, and BI-LO #5161, Dill Creek Commons, 1365 West Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greer, South Carolina 29650-1145, is in speculation to be among a quantity of locations Publix could acquire.
Publix locating a store in the northwest quadrant of West Wade Hampton Boulevard and North Buncombe Road would require a full access along North Buncombe Road. Access will be limited by extending the raised median barrier for motorists making illegal U-turns.
Publix acquiring BI-LO #5161 would be logical. If a change was to be made, GNC #6615, Dill Creek Commons, 1363 West Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greer, South Carolina 29650-1145, would relocate to allow the relocation of Pharmacy and allow for a Pharmacy drive thru.
More likely Publix ends up at Dill Commons - the Bi-Lo spot. But it will be a demo and rebuild.
Yes that store is old. Publix should have taken over the newer Food Lion store that closed in Greer. They could have remodeled it for a smaller Publix.

As much as I want a Publix closer to me, not here. PITA to get in and out of, and I doubt Publix would build a smaller store. Glad they didn't take that idea.

True. Not an easy in and out but neither is tucking it in that Kohl's shopping center. Publix has a smaller sized store in Mauldin and one at Pelham Commons. The McBee store DT is even smaller with a pharmacy tucked in the corner. I would rather have a smaller footprint Publix in Greer than none at all now. I actually prefer those smaller Publix stores.

Being the area is growing, especially north of Wade Hampton, they really need to put a good size store around here.
Comming from south Florida, I do find the Publix's up here rather small. I would like to see ones like I had in Stuart and Palm city. Variety of goods is for me.
Looking at the Greenville County and Spartanburg County markets, Publix is behind in quantity of store locations. Publix would succeed with a store on or near West Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greer. I have heard it is looking at additional locations on Locust Hill Road and at Eastgate Village on Old Spartanburg Road in Taylors.
A Publix store in this area of Greer has been talked about since I moved here almost 10yrs ago. I'm more likely to see a unicorn or space ship before a Publix the way they are going!
