Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes is handling all services of the Antonakos family - here is this family's obituary (from the McAfee website). Also noted there: "Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605; Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607; Christ Church Episcopal, 10 North Church Street, Greenville, SC 29601; or the Charity of One's Choice."
As for the McManus family - it's not clear as to specific services or the family's wishes. In fact, WYFF reported last night that the McManus family desired to keep affairs private. However, upon a quick web search, McSwain-Evans (Newberry, SC) funeral home may be handling their services - here is the dedicated McManus page. Noted there: "Memorial gifts may be made in the McManus name to the USC School of Medicine Greenville Scholarship Fund (Office of Philanthropy and Partnership, 300 E McBee Ave, Ste 200, Greenville, SC 29601), South Carolina Donate Life or the Ronald McDonald House."
Thank you sincerely for taking time to share this information. I assumed money is not an urgent need based on the little I had heard about the situation, but wanted to know if that was accurate and if there were any other requests regarding sympathetic gifts. If you hear of any trust funds or fund raising events in their honor, please share that information as well. Thank you again!
Chris McMannus was a wonderful person who was a great interventional radiologist. I have known him for a long time and am sad to realize that he is no more.
5 year anniversary to this tragedy - as many know, the Antonakos children were members of Gower Swim Team - wish they were here as GST won Red Division yesterday - prior to each heat, Gower swimmers yesterday held up their hand with a "five" in remembrance of this family
as for CP4912, I appreciate the bump in this thread, but your fear of planes has nothing to do with this tragedy
if you live in the city of Greenville, you are close to the DT airport (KGMU) AND to SCTAC/Donaldson Center Airport/Donaldson Field (which is a support facility for the SC Air National Guard and produces F-16 and T-50A trainers)
