What's the deal with all the Pete's around the area, are all or only some or none of them related. I love the one in Easley and have been to the one on Augusta but they seem completely unrelated. I'm going to visit the one on Stone Ave this weekend. I've recently been on a diner kick and am trying to link these places together. Here's what I have gathered as a list of Pete's, what do you guys know about them? Also is the Clock related? I heard that all the Greek places are somehow related.

They are not all related. Petes is a generic term. Petes on Pendleton is great. The Carolina on Buncombe is great. Bikas on Hwy 253, West Blue Ridge is average. I've walked out of Petees==bad srvc. Most are below average. Good Luck.

As the story goes, employees of the original Pete's would get the itch to be their own boss and open a lunch room. And name it Pete's too, because locals knew what they were getting - hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, onion rings and any number of urban diner favorites and short order style cookery. When the original owners retired the new owners would keep the name.

Same deal with the Clocks.

If you are doing the diner circuit, make sure you hit Dino's on Butler Road near 385. Good chow.

This thread is great! I haven't been to any in quite some time, but I have been to a few. The one in Easley was the best of the few I went to. Como's (Pete's #4) on Augusta Road was solid. I have been to both Clocks, and I thought the one farther back from the street was slightly better. The second Clock was supposedly the result of a family disagreement between two brothers. I don't know the accuracy of that, but always thought it was funny to have them directly beside one another like that.

I used to go to Pete's in Travelers Rest sometimes when I worked for the psych hospital up there. It was decent, not bad priced, just didnt care for the service.

When we first moved to the area, Dino's on Butler Road was Dino's Clock. Then they renovated and became Dino's.
