Health insurance would be covered by the company, but they said it would be $ 125/ month, think this is quite high, plus as this is a small co. it would take 3 months before it covers. Any suggestions?

In my opinion, it is a reasonable cost. Is this self only, or family? For comparison sake, we are a couple and our health plan expenses are over $400 per month. Also, I think it is typical that there is some delay in coverage when starting a job.

Yes, me only! But I think it's very high, cause I almost never go to see a doc. What are the check up costs for a dentist for instance? Compared to the costs when having a instance, cause I was told I would still have to pay something.
Aren't there any social places for people without insurance?

We don't have dental insurance. I recently saw a dentist here and it was $65 for cleaning and xrays, but, that is not typical. It's typically more expensive. What I quoted above is medical only. Our office copayments for seeing the doctor range from $25-$35 per visit. Before signing up, you can ask for the health plan details.

I suppose there are social places for people without insurance, but, you are being offered insurance. You just don't want to pay for it. Who does?! I would prefer not to have to pay for insurance either, but, that is just the way it is, you know? I am very healthy, and rarely see the doctor. However, if I were to get in an accident or serious illness, it would wipe us out financially.

Perhaps others will come along and have different information for you. In the US, we now have "Obamacare", but, I know nothing about it. This health plan could result in a lower payment or nothing at all. However, you may not qualify since you are being offered insurance. Maybe you can google and find out some details. Best wishes to you.

Only $125? I am curious as to the benefits at that very low price. You better sign up now before they change their mind!

Oh great! The dentist is the only one I go to regulary. What about the costs for a regular doc?
Did you hear about the guy from Pakistan, who is in coma? Insurance only covers $100,000.- while his bill reached over $ 350,000.-
I would probably fly home to make check ups. Is there maybe a health accident insurance?

Will it really be more cost effective to fly home? Also, keep in mind, that vacation time in the US is not as generous as in Europe. Typically, one starts off with only 10 DAYS PER YEAR.

Yes, as check ups there are free and flight is less than $ 1000. I might even have a chance to combine it with a biz trip. It's within the group so I have 3 weeks.

I did not yet move just here to check apartments.
Yes, the area is nice! Just funny that only because of a couple inches of snow almost everything is closed lol
