I think the title says it all. Looking to order a bday ice cream cake. Tried one from Publix bakery in the past but it did not have the chocolate crunchies - best part of the ice cream cake IMHO. I grew up in the Northeast where Carvel and Baskin Robin were the go-to spots for this kind of cake.

Would also welcome other suggested spots to get ice cream cake. I'm sure Cold Stone Creamery has them, but I bet they would be quite expensive....

Culver's custard cakes are supposed to be pretty good, I have not had one though. I'm a CT native grew up on Carvel hard to beat it around here.

Not sure about their cakes, but I wasn't impressed with Bruster's ice cream.

There is a Baskin Robbins in Simpsonville.

I would suggest that you try Marble Slab Creamery on Main Street downtown or Cold Stone Creamery in the Shops at Greenridge.

Didn't realize there was a frozen custard place Here! (Culver's). We will have to try it!

Just wanted to report back. We did go with Bruster's for our party cake. Got an 8" round cake and we were very pleased with it. The ice cream had a really creamy texture and the cake was very soft/fresh. Still missing the Carvel chocolate crunchies though! (this cake had a thin fudge layer between the ice cream and cake but no crunchies). But, I would use Bruster's again if I needed an ice cream cake.

being a WI native, i've eaten plenty of custard at Culvers over the years and still hit there each trip back home lol. I was going to suggest their cakes, but to check if they are custard or ice cream (as there is a difference).

But nothing like good creamy frozen custard to finish off a good burger.

Yes I agree and also enjoy the frozen custard and burgers at Culver's. The Woodruff Rd. store still seems to do a good business, although it may have declined a bit after their first year. And they also now have a location across from Carowinds.
